Foals of Maffioso Get Big Boost in Prizemoney

Owner/Breeders will be the big winners from the Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) Tax Parity distribution if they choose to breed to Clarinda Park Horses 5x Group 1 winning stallion MAFFIOSO.

Maffioso, a 16-hand stallion, is currently standing at Clarinda Park Horses in Parkes NSW.

HRNSW announced a further $3,000 bonus to all "True Blue" bred horses when they have their first win either as 2yo or 3yo. If the mare is served in NSW by a NSW based stallion and the foal is born and registered in NSW.

Add this to the already existing $3,000 Breeders Bonus and the $3,000 Owners Bonus and things start getting exciting. Along with the first place basic prizemoney of $3,000, this means the owner/breeder will receive $12,000 for their horses' first win as either a 2yo or 3yo for foals conceived in 2016/17.

Also the resultant foals are able to compete in the Alabar NSW Breeders Challenge and NSW Breeders Blue Series.

There will also be no registration costs and micro chipping costs for these foals.

But it only gets better!!! By breeding to Chariots of Fire winner MAFFIOSO in 2016/17, broodmare owners will also receive the $500 Colonial Stallion rebate. This means that owner/breeders can receive 10 times the service fee (after the Colonial Stallion rebate) of MAFFIOSO after their horses first win as either a 2yo or as a 3yo.

MAFFIOSO was the winner of 24 out of 41 starts and $606,907. He was a Group 1 2yo, 3yo, & 4yo winner.
